Reports say it’s called P8NT — pronounced, Paint.
Several sources say Gwen Stefani is getting ready to move ahead with plans to launch her own beauty, skincare, and haircare brands — and it might be called P8NT, pronounced ‘Paint.’
According to this Glamour article yesterday — and TMZ, which was the first to break the news when it checked with the United States Patent and Trademark Office — Stefani has registered to trademark “P8NT” for 21 makeup categories, including lipstick, fake eyelashes, fake nails, and “eyebrow gloss.” There are also 31 trademarks in skincare, and 7 in haircare.
No stranger to the beauty business, Stefani partnered with Urban Decay two years ago. Urban Decay’s Wende Zomnir talks about the collaboration in this video that shows Stefani involved in package design.
Glamour’s Rachel Nussbaum writes that all the trademarks filed “might be a strategic move to ward off copycats and keep her options open, or Stefani might be trying to take over our lives and bathroom shelves.”
Beauty, and music fans, will no doubt be very excited.
