I am not a natural when it comes to being able to distinguish between different shades of the same colour. It has now just become more difficult to differentiate a new shade of blue has hit a market called YinMn. Researchers named the pigment YnBlue after its three elements: Yittrium (Y), Indium (In) and Manganese (Mn).
Discovery
Its discovering was made in 2009 by a team of researchers from the University of Oregon. The discovery was made by accident while other pigment colours were being manipulated in a laboratory. Really what they wanted to create at the Department of chemistry at the University of Oregon was a material for electronics.They used manganese, indium and yttrium and subjected to a temperature of 1200 ° C, but the attempt was a poor electrical conductor. The shade of blue that emerged from their experiment got their attention, they decided to make further investigation of its properties.
Unique Structure
The new pigment is formed by a unique structure that enables manganese ions to absorb the wavelengths of red and green light while reflecting only blue.After checking the rarity of this shade of blue, they proceeded to call it YinMn. YinMn was the name chosen for this new colour, very similar at first glance to lapis lazuli. since then, the new material has passed through all stages that are necessary for the marketing of a new product.
Properties
The property is of the blue YinMn are striking, unlike other shades of blue, it preserves quite well. Even in contact with oil and water, it does not fade. It has the ability to reflect infrared light, and it is used as insulation in buildings in a much more effective manner than any other colour.
From now on manufacturers plastics, pants and other derivatives may include the U-shaped blue in their products. Motor vehicle paint, paint for houses or gadgets are some of the objects that you will find the YinMn blue. YinMn is expected to be commercially available before 2017.
