Charlotte Edey is a British printing, textile and embroidery artist & illustrator. Her interdisciplinary discovery of the intersections of identity and the spiritual reveals the symbolism and myth within her work. Womxn’s experience of colour is centred in her commentary on the politics of space.
At the Flowers Gallery, London (2018) and the PUBLIC Gallery, London (2019), she has previously held solo shows. TJ Boulting, London (2018 & 2019), MANA Contemporary, USA (2020), Mall Galleries, London (2019), Palazzo Monti, Italy (2019) and Arusha Gallery, Scotland (2020) have featured her work in group exhibitions.

Woven jacquard tapestry with hand embroidery in silk and metallic, chain appliqué and hand beading. 1.4 x 1.8 metres A call to the sublime. Shaped by anthropomorphic curves, saltwater waves and linear fabric studies speak to yearning and transcience. Augmented by metallic embroidery and chain appliqué, Call exists suspended between the current and the possible.
