Illustration. Design. Art Direction. Forged with Heart & Hands. Sydney AU / Los Angeles CA
After a misspent youth completing a Business Degree, Andrew moved on to designing skate and snowboard graphics between bouts of self-instruction and full-time work in a design agency.
Since then, he has worked with a wide range of international clients, including GQ, ESPN Magazine, Amex, Penguin Books, Billabong, Ride Snowboards, Nike, Miller Lite, Jack Daniels, Little White Lies, Random House, Wired, Playboy, and The Critical Slide Society.
It seems like mid-century style illustrations, design and vintage sci-fi, comics, surrealism, do-it-yourself art, culture and the textural wonders of degraded print influence him.
Often working with a limited colour palette, Andrew’s work seeks to hint at the nostalgia and tactility of found art while also creating something completely new.
Andrew’s work and words have appeared in print and online through Desktop, It’s Nice That Grain Edit, Theirzers Archive, Creative Review, Computer Arts, Ion, and Design Is Kinky.
Early in 2016, Andrew founded True Grit Texture Supply as a one-stop-shop for some of the world’s finest quality textures, photoshop brushes and texturally minded creative resources.
Andrew is available at any time to discuss upcoming projects and the textural wonders of mid-1990 photocopiers.
