Fabio Lenci (1935 – ) is an Italian Designer. He received his design education in Rome.

Biography

He began his professional career in 1966. He set up a shop for contemporary furniture in Rome. He began to explore the use of new plastics and manufacturing techniques to produce his furniture designs, including his Chain armchair with suspended upholstered rolls between plate-glass sides. 

From 1975 with Giovanna Talocci’s established Studio Lenci Talocci. For a time, collaborated with Carlo Urbanati and Patrizia Lalle. His clients in Italy included Bonacina, Poltrona Frau, Ellisse, G.B. Bernini, Ilform, Incom, Sleeping International System Italia, and Tenco.

He designed furniture, interiors, textiles, lighting and sanitary fixtures, including the 1974 Aquarius bath-shower unit produced (from 1975) by Teuco-Guzzini. He became a member of ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale). 

Exhibitions

Work (1970 polyurethane table-chair set and table by Bernini) shown at 1972 ‘Italy: The New Domestic Landscape’ at the New York Museum of Modern Art.
