Borje Rajalin is a Finnish Jewellery Designer.
Rajalin worked at Bertel Gardberg’s silversmith from 1952 – 1956. His design work included technical equipment, plastic fittings, cutlery, stainless steel table and cookware, and with Anti Nurmesniemi in 1972, a train for the Helsinki Railway. They collaborated with station designers to make the metro stations modern and chic. Rajalin produced silver designs for Bertel Gardberg and jewellery for Kalevala Koru. He taught at Taideeteollinen Oppilaitos and was the director of Taidetelinen Ammattikoulu in Helsinki.
Typical for Rajalin’s designs were simple forms and the usage of gemstones and ornaments.
Recognition
His large silver screen won a gold medal at the 1960 (XII) Triennale di Milano and the 1961 AID International Design Award. He received the 1963 Lunning Prize.

Perttu Mentula was a Finnish architect and interior, exhibition, product, graphic, and furniture designer. Between 1958-60, studied Taideteollinen Korkeakoulu, Helsinki. 1958-60, he was active as an interior and product designer in the offices of Antti Nurmesniemi and Timo Sarpaneva, and of Toivo Korkonen and Reino Lamminsoila, all Helsinki; 1960-77, was active in his design studio; 1964-77, was a designer for Wartsila Shipyards, Helsinki; from 1977, was director of Studio Perttu Mentula Oy.
Finlandia Hall designed by Alvar Aalto – Encyclopedia of Design
The Finlandia Hall is a congress and event venue in the centre of Helsinki on the Töölönlahti Bay, owned by the City of Helsinki. In 1971, the building, designed by the architect Alvar Aalto, was completed. Aalto designs every detail of the building.
