Smiling surfboards
In a new series of minimalist illustrated surfboards, French artist Jean Jullien brings his distinctive cartoonish characters. The four vibrant designs, created in conjunction with Fernand, show a pair of grinning fish, a comfortable whale, and a playful seal painted on single-colour backdrops. Jullien hand-illustrates each aquatic creature on the foam boards before having them glazed by Resin League and polished by Paul Hyde to complete the pieces. You can find out more about the collaboration and information on purchasing the varied designs on the artist’s Instagram.
