Lisa Krohn (born in 1963) is an industrial designer from the United States. She was born and raised in New York, where she is now working professionally.

Lisa Krohn studied three-dimensional form with Rowena Reed Kostello, New York, between 1985 and 1986. From 1985 to 1985, she studied art history and visual arts at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. From 1988 to 1988, she was a student at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Biography

Between 1985-87, she was an editor at the Industrial Designers Society of America, New York.

1986-87 Designer and copywriter at Smart Design, New York:

1987-88, designer and research consultant at Johnson and Johnson. In 1988. designer and research consultant at Herman Miller Research, Ann Arbor. Michigan. 1988- 89, the designer in the studio of Mario Bellini, Milan.

In 1989, she became a founding partner of the design collaborative Abel Industrial. New York, which produced products, graphics, furniture, lighting, and interior and stage set designs for clients, including NYNEX. Estée Lauder, George Kovacs Lighting, Alessi, the Steel case Design Partnership, and Ultradata.

In 1988, was visiting lecturer at the University of Monterrey (Mexico). From 1989, was visiting critic, industrial design department. Parson’s School of Design, New York. Her best-known products include Manual Fax and Phonehook machines.

Recognition

She won the first prize in the Forma Finlandia competition “Plastics for Tomorrow” in 1987.
