A loveseat, sometimes known as a courting chair or a mini-sofa, is a piece of furniture made specifically for two people. Like the sofa, loveseats have backs and armrests, as well as upholstery. The average length of a backseat is roughly sixty inches, as it is designed to accommodate only two people. The name implies that the loveseat is intended for two people who are lovers or courting. The loveseat was created to provide a place for women to sit and smooth out their – at the time fashionable – voluminous garments, and it was dubbed a little sofa. After a while, people realised that these small sofas might be utilised for precisely two people in romance, and they began to be marketed as loveseats.
