Alessi Kettle with Small Bird-Shaped Whistle

Alessi Kettle with Dragon Shaped Whistle

If you are in the market for a new kettle or shopping for one as a gift, the kettle that comes closest to fulfilling all the requirements is the 1980s classic Alessi kettle designed by the noted architect Michael Graves.

The Graves kettle looks wonderful.  It has a shiny conical body of polished stainless steel with a moulded stay cool handle arching over the top, and the sprout protrudes purposefully and handsomely from the base.  And it whistles.  For a touch of whimsy, the most recent updated version has a dragon that nests in the spout.
