This is a softcover exhibition catalogue for The Retrospective Exhibition of Shoji Hamada at the National Museum of Modern Art in 1977. it contains black and white and colour photographs and descriptions of the artwork in the exhibit. Shōji Hamada (濱田 庄司 Hamada Shōji, 1894 – 1978) was a Japanese potter. He was a significant influence on studio pottery of the twentieth century and an important figure of the mingei folk-art movement, establishing the town of Mashiko as a world-renowned pottery centre.
