Rare 19th Century Carlo Guiliano Enamel Butterfly mounted as a hatpin later in the 19th Century. These butterfly brooches display the fine craftsmanship that Giuliano is so famous for and his talent with coloured enamels. These jewels represent nature in such exquisite detail, looking closely at the iridescent qualities of butterfly wings. They are decorated on both the front and back with engraved detail to the legs. 2.25″ x 1.25″. 6.75″ shaft metal. 1880’s Italy. Unsigned. Similar examples are illustrated in Geoffrey C.
