George Barbier (1882-1932) is a notable early-20th-century French illustrator. His art deco pieces were influenced by orientalism and Parisian couture. After his debut exhibition in 1911, he became famous in Nantes, France. George Barbier, known as one of “the knights of the bracelet” for his opulent lifestyle and profession, designed costumes and sets for theatre, film, and ballet. His trendy, attractive illustrations are popular worldwide.
