Abstracta. A system for constructing detachable metal cage structures suitable for display and exhibition constructions and other applications, such as certain types of furniture and storage units. 1960 saw the creation of the system by Danish designer Poul Cadovius. Linear elements are tubing sections cut to module length specifications. The connectors are star-shaped castings consisting of a ball with two to six angled cones that slot into the ends of the tubes.
Abstracta structures are simple, elegant, and straightforward to construct, disassemble, and reuse. The system is utilised in various commercial displays and other applications.
