Designing with Antiques

By: Tara Shaw

Tara Shaw, a designer and antique dealer, has supplied a slew of AD100 and Elle Decor A-listers of French and European antiques, including Bobby McAlpine, Mary McDonald, and Bunny Williams. In her first book, she explains how to choose the best antiques and how to incorporate them into various decor schemes. Shaw’s portfolio is included in the book, which includes never-before-seen spaces and her favourite antique-hunting spots around Europe. Anecdotes from years of treasure searching are interspersed with photographs of unusual and valuable items and text that explains how to pick the right pieces and show them in a modern setting. Readers would be able to look at each space and take away ideas for creating customised rooms with provenance and elegance in their own homes.
