Collar Stoneware Teapot in Black

Daniel Debiasi and Federico Sandri, an Italian design team, have designed an elegant teapot for the Collar range, including coffee and bar equipment for gourmets and connoisseurs. For those already smitten with the stunning Collar silhouette, the Collar Tea Pot is an absolute “must-have.” The teapot has a rubberwood sideways handle that gives the black stoneware a natural feel and softness.
Benefits of Stoneware
Stoneware is a high-fired ceramic that is strong and durable. It is suitable for steeping any tea and is impervious to absorbing flavours from the tea being steeped within it. Unglazed clay teapots have a long association with tea preparation in both Japan and China. Japanese unglazed teapots, two of the most notable being those from Banko and Tokoname, are made from relatively hard clays which do not absorb the flavours of the tea. Earthenware teapots are fired at lower temperatures than stoneware and are softer and more porous. Most are fully glazed to make them watertight.
