The book spans the decades and contains stories about famous private citizens from the present and the past, including the Obamas, Bowie, Capote, Hockney, Kors, and Vreeland, alongside top designers and architects, including Frank Gehry, Hicks, India Mahdavi, Marino, Fowler, Vervoordt, Lloyd Wright, and Wolfe. Incredible photos include photos by William “Bill” Cunningham, Horst P. Horst, Simon Upton, Francois Dischinger, Francois Halard, Julius Shulman, and Oberto Gili.
