The Prince Eugen Medal (Swedish: Prins Eugen-medaljen) is a medal awarded by the King of Sweden for “outstanding artistic achievement.”
The medal was established in 1945 by the then King of Sweden, Gustaf V, on the occasion of the eightieth anniversary of his brother, Prince Eugene, who was a well-known painter and art collector.
It is awarded every year on 5 November, the day of Eugene’s name. It is presented to the winners at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
