Clay Tile Bathroom 1954 House & Garden

Marcel Breuer, architect of the UNESCO building, designed a bathroom-sun garden with subtly blended black, grey, and white clay tiles.

This classic mid-century interior is roomy, with clay tile countertops designed to take suds, wear and water. The clay tile tub and recessed shelf, dramatically reflected in the mirrored storage wall, are sparkling and bright.

For durability and beauty, clay floors, walls, and wainscoting are used, too. This scuff-proof, no-wax clay tile floor leads invitingly to a sun garage.
