Christian Joachim was a Danish Ceramicist (1870 – 1943). Between 1889, he studied at the Det Kongelige Danske Kunstakademi, Copenhagen.

Between 1897 and 1900, Joachim made ceramics with George Jensen in a workshop outside Copenhagen. Between 1901 and 1933, he worked for the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory, where Arno Malinowski sometimes decorated his restrained neoclassical forms. In 1904, he became the director of the pottery Aluminia, Copenhagen; from 1922 to 1933, he was the artistic director of Royal Copenhagen Porcelain and Aluminia.

Awards

He received a grand prize at the 1925 Paris Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes. In 1939, the British elected him the Honorary Royal Designer for Industry.
