Oki Sato, the Canadian-born Japanese designer, was born in 1977 in Toronto, Canada. Listed among “the 100 most respected Japanese” by Newsweek magazine, and recipient of numerous “Designer of the Year” honours from publications like Wallpaper and Elle Decor.

According to Oki Sato, the self-described “spinning-top” of Nendo, design is a way to interact with our never-ending human curiosities through a kind of dance. His unbridled and childlike enthusiasm for design and its boundless possibilities is remarkable. His courageous and unwavering belief that the world is beautiful and a place of balance extends beyond the physical results of his shared Canadian and Japanese ancestry.
