Adeptus was a British Furniture Firm based in London.
Background
In its short lifespan, Adeptus revolutionized the furniture industry with its innovative use of foam. Groves and Petrihelos were ahead of their time, recognizing the need for furniture that was both comfortable and affordable. Their foam creations were not only stylish but also practical, as they could be easily moved and stored. Adeptus quickly gained a following, with customers flocking to their stores to experience the comfort of their foam chairs and sofas. Unfortunately, the firm’s success was short-lived, and it closed its doors in 1985. Despite its brief existence, Adeptus left a lasting impact on the furniture industry, inspiring other designers to experiment with foam and explore new possibilities for comfortable seating.
