Rachel Heritage is a British industrial designer born in London in 1958. She is the daughter of Robert Heritage, a well-known figure in the design industry.

Education

Rachel Heritage studied furniture design at Kingston Polytechnic in Kingston-upon-Thames from 1978 to 1985. She then pursued her education at the Royal College of Art in London from 1982 to 1985.

Biography

In 1981 and 1982, Rachel worked at the design and architecture studio Cini Boeri Associati in Milan. During her time there, she worked on projects for various clients, including Fusital (door hardware), Tronconi (lighting), and Knoll (contract furniture).

In 1985, Rachel Heritage and her brother Paul Heritage established Heritage Design, a design firm based in London. The company has been actively involved in furniture and lighting design.

Rachel Heritage’s work was showcased at several exhibitions. In 1985, it was displayed at the ASB Gallery in London. The following year, her designs were featured at the ‘Style ’86’ exhibition held at Olympia in London. In 1988, it was part of the ‘Design it Again’ exhibition at the Design Centre in London.

Recognition

Throughout her career, Rachel Heritage has received recognition for her work. She was awarded the Ambrose Heal Award in 1981, the Antocks Lair Bursary in 1982, and the Concord Lighting Award in 1985. These awards highlight her contributions and achievements in the field of industrial design.
