Alexander Girard, one of Herman Miller’s famous designers in the 1950s and 1960s, added creative textiles to Eames’ and Nelson’s furniture. He produced some of the most vibrant and vibrant fabrics available anywhere as the head of Herman Miller’s Textile Division since its inception in 1952. He also created the Girard Group, a 25-piece modern furniture collection, and the Environmental Enrichment Panels, a 40-piece series for Action Office 2.
Girard’s unrivalled folk art collection decorated Herman Miller buildings filled their Textiles & Objects Shop in New York. They filled the Girard Foundation with almost 100,000 artefacts. Girard is one of the most renowned designers of the twentieth century, thanks to his work as an interior designer and architect and his extraordinary textiles for Herman Miller.
