Clients
He works for Alias, BD Barcelona, BMW, Camper, FSB, Georg Jensen, Iittala, Kvadrat, Luceplan, Moroso, Schiffini, and Vitra. His work is heavily influenced by his upbringing in Argentina and his curiosity and studies in everyday life. His designs combine tradition with creativity, enthusiasm, and vitality. The result is work with a lot of emotion and expression.
Design Perspective
In Häberli’s design method, the human being is the beginning point. His constructions and items are made to be utilised. He observes the actual situation in which an object is used without prejudice or ingenuity. He does not construct the form for its sake. Based on his findings, he creates adjustments to the archetypes of objects that have evolved, ensuring that the everyday objects surrounding people are ideally suited to the moment and situation in which they are used.
Exhibitions
Alfredo Häberli’s art has been shown in several exhibitions across Europe. He has garnered numerous accolades for his efforts over the last 16 years. Frame Publishers in Amsterdam released his monograph “Alfredo Häberli – Sketching My Own Landscape”. He was the guest of honour at the 20th Biennale of Design in Kortrijk, Belgium, in October 2006. In this connection, Birkhäuser produced the book «Alfredo Häberli Design Live», which featured images of some of Switzerland’s most renowned artists interpreting Alfredo Häberli’s work.

A personal desire was fulfilled in 2008 when he had his retrospective show “SurroundThings” at the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich, where he had been responsible for various exhibitions since 1988. In 2009, he was named “Designer of the Year 2009” by A&W magazine (Architektur & Wohnen) and was honoured with a monograph show at the Imm Cologne International Furniture Expo. Since 2009, Alfredo Häberli has been curating Pfister AG’s “Atelier Pfister – Neues Schweizer Design”.
