Born in 1977 in Aichi, Japan, Sakura Adachi embarked on a remarkable journey that would establish her as a distinguished designer. She pursued her passion for design by earning a degree in Industrial and Craft Design from Musashino Art University in Tokyo. Adachi’s thirst for knowledge and desire to refine her skills led her to London, where she completed her master’s degree in Industrial Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design in 2004.

Milan: A Creative Hub

In 2004, Adachi relocated to Milan, Italy, a city renowned for its rich design culture. Here, she began collaborating with esteemed design studios, including Atelier Bellini and Studio & Partners. These collaborations allowed Adachi to immerse herself in the vibrant design scene of Milan and further develop her unique artistic style.

Copenhagen International Furniture Fair: A Turning Point

Adachi’s talent garnered significant attention in 2005 when she participated in the Copenhagen International Furniture Fair. At the fair, she proudly presented her graduation project, the impressive “CAVE” bookcase, along with two chairs. The event proved to be a transformative moment in her career as HRH, The Crown Prince of Denmark, visited her stand, leading to widespread recognition and media coverage, including a noteworthy interview in the esteemed New York Times in 2007.

Establishing Sakura Adachi Design Studio

Inspired by her accomplishments and driven by her creative vision, Adachi founded her design studio, Sakura Adachi Design Studio, in Milan in 2008.
