David Palterer (b. 1949) is an Israeli designer born in Haifa. He is professionally active in Florence. His participation in various competitions and collaborations with well-known brands demonstrate his versatility and talent as a designer, with a focus on both aesthetics and functionality. His work has been recognized internationally, showcasing his impact on the design industry.
Education
He studied architecture at the Universitá di Firenze in 1979.
He was an assistant to lecturer Adolfo Natalini at the Facoltá di Architettura in Florence. He taught a design course at Syracuse University in New York, Werkbund in Stuggart, and Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts, in Jerusalem. His teaching experience in different parts of the world helped him develop a unique perspective on architecture and design, reflected in his work as an architect..
In 1983, he established the design and manufacturing firm Alterego in Amsterdam with Borek Sipek. He designed the interior architecture (with Luigi Zangheri) of the San Casciano, Florence Airport, and parks in Pesaro, Italy, and Tel Aviv. He also designed furniture, furnishings, and products for Cleto Munari, Nuvo Vilca, Artelano, Mancioli, and Zanotta.
He organised and participated in numerous competitions in Italy and abroad, including ‘L’intero dop la forma dell utile’ at the 1979 (XVI) Triennale di Milano, the Biennale in São Paolo, the reevaluation (with Adolfo Natalini’s group) of the old city plan of Parma, and the Interior Design competition sponsored by the journal Architectural Design.
